I Stand With Naga

Words fail me as to why the BBC upheld a complaint about the BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty pointing out that Donald Fart, sorry Trump's comments that senators of colour should 'go back to places they came from' are racist. I am especially at a loss regarding their decision when you consider that the extremely biased, white political editor Laura Kuenssberg (ostensibly the Secretary of State for Propaganda) receives thousands of complaints on more than one occasion and yet the BBC defend her to the hilt.

If, like me you, stand with Naga, then please sign these petitions to get the BBC to reconsider their decision.

Boris Johnson Must Go

And so it has been found that the alleged Prime Minister's suspension of parliament was unlawful.

This is a huge victory for the democracy that hard brexiteers like Johnson falsely claimed leaving the EU was about returning to this country. But we need to go one further; we need to show that Boris Johnson's position is untenable. Please sign this petition demanding he resign now.

Johnson's Coup Declared Illegal

Well colour me distinctly unsurprised, but Scotland's highest court, the Court of Sessions, has found that our alleged Prime Minister's prorogation was unlawful and "motivated by the improper purpose of stymying parliament"

Follow this link to both sign Another Europe is Possible's petition and to ask your MP to return to parliament now to hold this tinpot dictator to account.

Out On Blue Six: Wet Wet Wet

Following this tweet directed at Boris Johnson from Hugh Grant today...

...I can safely say that Love is All Around for the Four Weddings actor.

End Transmission

PS: Sign Labour's petition to stop Boris Johnson's plan to suspend parliament here

Stop Social Cleansing, Save Walden House and Cundy Street

At just twenty-eight years old, the Duke of Westminster own more land than Her Majesty the Queen. He is the world's richest man under the age of 30, with an estimated wealth of £9.3 billion.

And now, he wants to evict 40 families from London's Walden House and Cundy Street council housing to make way for high-rise luxury investment flats. His plan is to socially cleanse the area, making over 40 families and the elderly, many of whom have lived their all their lives, homeless. All to add to his astronomical bank balance.

If, like me, you think this is morally wrong and needs to be stopped then please unite behind the residents and sign this petition.

Word of the Day: Prorogue

Who knew there'd be benefits to living in a fash dictatorship eh? We need to look on the bright side. We've all learnt a new word today, and that word is 'prorogue'

In all seriousness though, we've learnt something else important today; we've learnt just what 'taking back control' actually means.

Taking back control means a man who is not a democratically elected leader of the nation can close parliament down on a whim, because he knows they won't give him what he wants - a No Deal Brexit. Boris Johnson can cite precedence, he can argue that he's doing it for the police and the NHS, all until he is blue in the face as well as politics. The truth is, this is all about getting his own way and to hell with everyone else. Boris Johnson has got far more in common with Hitler, than he has with his hero, Churchill.

Please sign this petition, and this one and indeed this one too, in an attempt to overturn this dictator's decision.

Save Us From Boris Johnson

Oh dear.

Well I guess it was inevitable. But here we indeed are. The Tories have voted for an Eton educated, elitist, racist, homophobic, lying and cheating bully boy of a no deal backing millionaire to lead their party and be our new Prime Minister. In effect, they have just signed the suicide note for this country.

But Boris Johnson is not, and never will be, the true Prime Minister of this country. Backed by a tiny minority and without a mandate, he is an unelected clown. We have the democratic right to demand a general election to finally get the Tories out of office once and for all and we must do so now before it is too late. October 31st is just around the corner after all. So please, sign this petition to demand a GE and share it with as many people as you can.

The NHS Is Not For Sale

Trump's state visit will see him sniffing around for a trade deal...and he has his eyes on the NHS.

Yesterday, the US ambassador admitted as much to the BBC. I don't care how you voted in the EU referendum - no one voted for the end of the NHS surely? And yet that's exactly what the hard right Brexit mob, the Farage's and Rees-Mogg's of this world want. And they'll bend over backwards to please Trump.

If our next PM, whoever that may be, gives Trump the trade deal he wants, they'll be signing away the NHS to US companies who will start running the pride of our country for profit.

Please sign this petition to tell Trump hands off the NHS.

Suspend Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson is a man who seems to think he can say what he bloody well likes. And, whilst what he likes to say is always inflammatory and offensive, he always gets away with it.

Enough is enough. During a radio interview in which he was asked about the police budget, Johnson said "I think an awful lot of money and an awful lot of police time goes into these historic offences and all this malarkey. You know, £60m I saw was being spaffed up a wall on some investigation into historic child abuse and all this kind of thing"

This is the disgusting, inconsiderate mindset of the man. In one comment he dismisses the abuse of children as 'malarkey' and the finances used to gain the necessary justice they have long been denied as being 'spaffed up a wall'. To use a slang term for male ejaculation whilst discussing child sex abuse is particularly tactless, but I will say this; what a shame it is that Boris Johnson's father didn't 'spaff up a wall' the night he and his wife conceived this idiotic, cruel hearted bastard.

In the wake of the Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland and the recent convictions gained via Yewtree, Johnson's comments shows a man completely out of step with public opinion. The only people who this comment is designed to appeal to is those who live in fear of prosecution themselves. Given that Lord Steel of the Lib Dems this week admitted that Cyril Smith confessed to him as early as 1979, and chose to do nothing about it, whilst testimony has also been heard about Thatcher's PPS, the deceased Chester MP, Peter Morrison (a man whose penchant for under-age boys was, according to Edwina Currie's diaries, widely known) this is a clear sign that Boris Johnson wants to protect the paedophiles of Westminster.

Enough is enough. Please sign this petition that demands Johnson's suspension from the Conservative party. why it hasn't happened already is frankly beyond me.

We Need to Talk About Karen

Following her disgusting comments in the House yesterday, Karen Bradley's position as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland is no longer tenable.

To be fair, her position should never have been considered tenable the moment she uttered this startling omission;

"I freely admit that when I started this job, I didn't understand some of the deep-seated and deep-rooted issues that are in Northern Ireland. I didn't understand things like when elections are fought for example in Northern Ireland, people who are nationalists don't vote for unionist parties and vice-versa. So, the parties fight for the election within their own community...That's a very different world from the world I came from"

She showed her ignorance even further yesterday when - just a week before the PPS intend to announce whether prosecutions can be brought against the soldiers involved in the Bloody Sunday killings - she said;

"Over 90% of the killings during the Troubles were at the hands of terrorists. The under 10% that were at the hands of the military and police were not crimes...(but were) people acting under orders or instructions, fulfilling their duties in a dignified and appropriate way"

This inflammatory comment shows she has no understanding of the events in question or the shoot-to-kill policy and collusion between our security services and paramilitaries like the UVF, nor did she have a grasp on basic law.

Today she has issued an apology, another example of an MP who has somehow 'misspoke' (see the Independent Group's Angela Smith and her 'funny tinge' comment), but it's not enough. To my mind, Karen Bradley's comments - indeed her role as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland - shows the profoundly cavalier attitude that the Tory establishment have for Ireland, an attitude that has recently been at the fore of the Brexit backstop issue, with Jacob Rees-Mogg's belief that Troubles-era border checks should become commonplace again being exactly the kind of comment one expects from a privileged, self-entitled man who wouldn't have to experience them himself, whilst Boris Johnson dismisses these concerns as "small"

If you agree that Karen Bradley is not fit to serve Northern Ireland then please sign this petition demanding her resignation.

Don't Let Jamal Khashoggi Die In Vain - End the UK Arms Sale to Saudi Arabia

Labour have been saying this for ages. Maybe if we all sign this, then Jamal Khashoggi will not only have not died in vain, but we can save the lives of thousands more too

http://tinyurl.com/y7n2sgvg

Killed in cold-blood. The assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi is barbaric and gruesome. He criticised those in power in Saudi Arabia and it has been reported that he was murdered on their orders. The Saudi state keeps changing its story, and is now claiming he died “in a fight”.

Yesterday, Foreign secretary Jeremy Hunt condemned the killing, saying the Saudi response was “not credible”. Yet our government continues to sell them weapons.

Saudi Arabia’s rulers rely on British made weapons. If we stop selling them arms, it will show them that their actions have consequences. And that Britain won’t stand by while they brutally silence their critics.

This story is splashed across the news, but the government haven’t yet heard from us, the British public. If thousands of us sign an open letter to Jeremy Hunt today, asking him to halt arms sales with Saudi Arabia, he’ll know we expect him to act.

Will you join me and add your name to the open letter?

Feminise The Fifty!

The Bank of England are redesigning the fifty pound note and debate is raging as to who should the new face of the bank note.

Because only three women have featured on bank notes, the feeling is it should be a woman. Unfortunately this means some right wing idiots are campaigning for Margaret Thatcher to be the face of the fifty (shudder) but I think it's high time that we not just a remarkable woman on the next new bank note, but also one of colour.

With that in mind, I would ask that you all please sign the petition to get WWII SOE heroine Noor Inayat Khan to become the new face of the redesigned fifty pound note.

I can only echo what petition starter Zehra Zaidi has said; the first radio operator to infiltrate Nazi occupied France, Noor Inayat Khan was a truly remarkable woman that generations owe a huge debt to. Her work during WWII rightly saw her awarded a posthumous George Cross, alongside fellow agents Violette Szabo and Odette Hallowes, who Zaidi would also like to see represented on the fifty pound note, should the Bank of England consider more than one person.

The petition explains at length how Noor's story is relevant to this day. We need to honour her memory and take the opportunity to depict her as a positive Muslim role model.

Petitions to Labour NEC

Momentum believe it is important that the Labour Party have an open selection process and no MP veto. Please sign the following petitions to ensure this happens because the NEC may block them come Saturday. It's time to put an end to the divisions within the Labour Party and make it a more democratic place that has MP's who want to work for the will of the people, rather than feather their own nest.

Save Radcliffe and Maconie!

So those BBC mandarins have gone and made the most ridiculous decision of them all as a massive schedule change at 6 Music sees the relegation of the Radcliffe and Maconie show from weekday afternoons to a weekend breakfast show.

It really is an absurd move. Radcliffe and Maconie is not only the best show on 6 but the best show on radio, full stop. It's been a beacon of hope for listeners since 20011 (when it moved from Radio 2 weekday evenings after a successful four years there) and the decision to slash the pair's broadcast time from fifteen hours per week down to just six, shunted off from the 1pm til 4pm weekday slot to a 7am til 10am weekend slot is an incredibly short sighted one from the mandarins and not, it seems, one either broadcaster was looking for. Twitter has been overwhelmed by a mass pouring of protest and criticism at this decision. There's also a petition at change.org that I strongly urge you all to sign. You can do so here

Send a Message to the Saudi Tyrants

18 young people could be beheaded at any time for the 'crime' of protesting against the Saudi government. Some were sentenced to death for attending protests when they were children. All were brutally tortured into confessing.

Tomorrow, loathsome Tory PM Theresa May will welcome Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman with open arms. This is our chance to send a message to the Saudi government that says whilst our government welcome them as friends, we - the general public - find their behaviour abhorrent. If you sign this petition you can make our voice heard, you can save lives. Do it today - it will be delivered to the Saudi prince tomorrow.

Fighting Back: Petitions to Sign

We may have been victorious in getting the odious Toby Young to resign from his role of 'Uni Tsar' this week (and oh, how the wailing and gnashing of teeth has begun from his supporters within the party), but Theresa May's ridiculous reshuffle reminds us that scum rises to the top.

Remember Esther McVey? This failed TV presenter and heartless woman was an atrociously callous former Disability Minister and Employment Minister under IDS, and booted out of government in the 2015 election because of her actions and attitudes in parliament: her consistent voting against an increase in welfare benefit spending, and her £170,000+ expenses claims whilst arguing that 'it is right that people are going to food banks because as times are tough, we are all having to pay back this £1.5 trillion debt personally". Unfortunately, since 2015 she's been working her way back into the heart of government, first by securing the safe Tory seat of Tatton when George 'Pencils' Osborne resigned, and then by bagging the Tory whip job, promising to bring 'a feminine touch' to the role - whatever the hell that means. Now the Maybot has returned her back to the DWP, hiring her as DWP Secretary, a wholly unsuitable job for someone without empathy. This is a death knell for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in society and we need to voice our disapproval by signing this petition.

An while we are at it, if you haven't signed the petition to reject the proposal made by Simon Dudley, the leader of Windsor's Tory run council (pictured above with his glorious leader), to remove the homeless in the area by May 19th, the date Prince Harry is to marry Meghan Markle. Homelessness is NOT a "security risk" as this heartless snob claims, it is a symptom of this government's ruthless austerity measures. Dudley may feel the homeless population in his "beautiful town" puts it in an "unfavourable light", but the real spotlight should be put upon the policies of a government which has resided over an increase in homelessness since coming to power in 2010 as a direct result of their austerity programme. Please sign it here

On a Scale of 1 to 10, How Insensitive are the Tories on Grenfell?

Can you believe the Tories are asking Kensington residents, on a scale of 1 to 10, how important the tragedy of Grenfell tower is to them?

Just how insensitive can you get? And this from a Tory government that claims they have learnt from Hillsborough. They are making the same mistakes all over again.

If you agree that this is unacceptable and want to ensure the government do not shirk their responsibilities to the victims of Grenfell and everyone currently living in a residence without sufficient protection at next week's Budget, then please sign this petition

Vote Labour to Help our Police Do Their Job

When PC Paul Taylor was captured on camera linking arms with young fans and dancing, it was the most heartwarming moment of last night's One Love Manchester

It reminded us that these officers protect us from harm and comfort us through the bad and the good. But they can only do that if they are given the budget to do so. There are calls today for Theresa May to resign because she has made our country vulnerable and because, when told she was putting our country in danger from terrorism by the police, she dismissed such concerns as 'scaremongering. Theresa May needs to learn that cuts have consequences, and she must pay the price for having blood on her hands. Three are plenty of petitions calling for her resignation, including this one which I ask you to sign. But there's one other thing you can do that will certainly take May from office - and that is to vote Labour on Thursday. Only Labour will keep our country safe and give the police the tools to do the job.

And while we are at it, let's give Ariana Grande the keys to Manchester for her achievement last night.

Fighting Back: Petition on BBC Bias

I've shared this petition before, but it needs a push. Now, more than ever, the BBC's bias has become even clearer during this election campaign. I needn't point out to any discerning reader I'm sure of the recent furore over at Question Time when the show planted a sitting Tory councillor in the audience and gave him unprecedented opportunity to air his (or rather his party's) views. Today, that Fox News reporter in the making, Laura Kuenssberg (pictured below with a brilliant piece of photobombing going on behind her as the Labour manifesto launch), has not only shown that she's literally cribbing her 'impartial' political comment about said manifesto from the Tory website , she also deliberately ignores key points in her summing up and tonight, she concluded a report on the Tory manifesto citing it as a 'hardheaded' statement on 'getting the job done', as opposed to 'a hearts and flowers manifesto'....yeah because wanting to end elderly loneliness, child poverty, homelessness and unfair work capability assessments and reassassments for disabled people is just 'hearts and flowers' to be sneered at isn't it?

Sign the petition, complain to the BBC about this Fake News and clear bias, and above all vote Labour on June 8th.
