RIP Peter O'Sullevan

The veteran horse racing commentator, dubbed 'The Voice of Racing', Sir Peter O'Sullevan has died aged 97.


For many O'Sullevan was horse racing, effectively creating the way commentating is done for the sport. His distinctive tones commentated on 50 Grand Nationals, 14,000 races in total before retiring from broadcasting in 1997 after a half century as the BBC's main commentator for the sport.
