John Hurt : Sending Get Well Vibes

One of my favourite actors, John Hurt has announced that he has been diagnosed with the early stages of pancreatic cancer.

Sir John said "I am undergoing treatment and am more than optimistic about a satisfactory outcome, as indeed is the medical team"

So here's hoping the very best outcome for him, sending lots of positivity and get well vibes his way.

  1. Indeed, I was stunned to read this earlier, it would be tragic to lose John so soon after Christopher Lee and Ron Moody. I've seen him around London a few times, and he was at the opening of 44 INCH CHEST a few years go, with his pal Ray Winston. John must be one of our busiest actors, going from film to film, I remember his first, THE WILD AND THE WILLING back in 1962, with Ian McShane (who was in 44 INCH CHEST too), He will always be immortal for THE NAKED CIVIL SERVANT, Caligula in I CLAUDIUS, ALIEN, THE ELEPHANT MAN, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS and so many more. Its brave of him to go public with this, so many others wouldn't. Best wishes to him, one of our most individual actors, and that voice - ideal too for the adverts for IAMS for cats ! and again he must have worked with about everyone.
