RIP Billie Whitelaw

The great actress Billie Whitelaw has died aged 82. Once proclaimed the perfect actress by playwright Samuel Beckett, Whitelaw became the writer's muse and they shared a 26 year professional relationship. Away from the stage, she was also a celebrated film and TV star having appeared in many TV plays, mini series and one off dramas such as Shooting The Past, The Fifteen Streets and A Murder of Quality as well as an early appearance in six episodes as George Dixon's daughter in Dixon of Dock Green and on the cinema in such noted films as The Omen, Twisted Nerve, The Krays, Frenzy, Charlie Bubbles (an image from which adorned one of The Smiths singles) and Hot Fuzz.
