Out On Blue Six Xmas : East 17

Back in the day I was always quite fond of East 17, even though as a teenage lad I wasn't the band's target audience. Despite the obvious naffness inherent in the group, I felt the production values of many of their songs were surprisingly strong and they were far more tolerable than Take That to my mind.

This song, penned by band member Tony Mortimer about the suicide of his brother remains a strong and emotive Christmas number one and showed that Mortimer was capable of having something to say, unlike many of his contemporaries.
