Today marks the 156th anniversary of Emmeline Pankhurst's birthday

"Men make the moral code and expect women to accept it. They have decided that it is entirely right and proper for men to fight for their liberties and their rights, but that it is not right and proper for women to fight for theirs"

Emmeline Pankhurst dared to challenge the moral code imposed upon her and her fellow woman by a society she was not allowed to have a claim in. In doing so, she fought and won that claim but knew that society is something that need to be worked at, and fought for on a daily basis. On a day like today, we should remember Emmeline Pankhurst and what she gave us and taught us.
