The Chicago Code was an American crime drama television series from 2011.
Created by Shawn Ryan and starring Jason Clarke (the Australian actor who went on to appear in Zero Dark Thirty and White House Down), Jennifer Beals (Flashdance and Lie To Me) and Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty, The Cider House Rules) the show was immediately praised it for its similarities to The Wire in depicting a corrupt city as a character in the story itself and, according to critic Brian Ford Sullivan, for being "everything a TV series should be; a toy box of well rounded characters put in a distinct landscape with stories and attitudes that can be anything from funny to terrifying to heartbreaking, never knowing which is coming next"
Surprising then that, despite such a favourable reception, Fox cancelled it after just one season on May 10th, 2011. The show began airing over here on Sky One two days after that announcement and I loved it. Still can't understand why it was axed.
The theme tune was provided by Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins
