Foodbanks #jackspetition

Jack Monroe, author of the A Girl Called Jack blog has started a petition asking parliament to debate the rising hunger issue and increase in foodbanks here in the UK, and why is is that here in the seventh richest country in the world we are routinely failing to provide for people effectively. 60,000 will not have food on their table this Christmas (a situation Jack and her then one year old son were in themselves in 2011) and 350,000 received three day emergency food from foodbanks between April and September this year?

As Jack so effectively quotes from Desmond Tutu, "There comes a time when we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they're falling in"

Please, please sign this petition and force this issue front and centre so no more blind eyes can be turned.
